Frequently Asked Roofing Questions

A leaky roof is not good. However, if caught in time, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need a full roof replacement. It really depends on the level of damage. Having a free roof assessment is the best way to know if you only need a minor roof repair or a full roof replacement.

Every homeowner should inspect their roof at least once a year. You can perform this inspection yourself, but it is a good idea have a roofing professional check it every once in a while, particularly if the roof is older or has trees nearby. Hi Low Roofing provides FREE roof inspections.

The average life expectancy of a roof system is 20 years. But this can be influenced by a number of factors, including roof design, structure, material quality, installation quality, periodic maintenance, climate, and more. Roofing material like clay tile, slate and certain metal can last longer.

With Hi Low Roofing, it generally takes 1-2 days to install a roof. The size of your roof and weather conditions factor into the amount of time for completion.

Every roofing job is required to purchase a building permit from the city. While and after the construction is complete the city/county will inspect the roof for code compliance and any problems. In the unlikely event that there is a problem, it is promptly addressed until all parties are satisfied. The city/county will not provide the roofing contractor a certification of completion until code compliance issues and any other problems are resolved.

Finding and choosing a good roofing company can seem like a chore, but ultimately it is your decision to make. Reviewing the company’s website should help you get a basic understanding of what types of roofing jobs the company does as well as some before and after photos of jobs they’ve done. You should check their reviews to see what others have said about them. Also check to see if they have a general contracting license as well as an in-state roofing license. You do not have to go with the lowest bid. Be sure the company you choose is reputable, and local.
